Busting out of my Comfort Zones

on December 31, 2014

Well here I am the night before New Years Eve working on some goals. I’ve had these for awhile but I wouldn’t call them resolutions. Ever since I started this blog it’s become my online journal. I didn’t intend for that to happen, but here it is in all its glory. I believe the best things happen in life when we’re not paying attention to the outcome. I’m not sure if I read that or just came up with it. Either way, it’s been a blessing for me and the best therapy I’ve ever received. And with the years of therapy, and the book shelves full of self help genre that’s a gift in itself. The first blog I wrote a year ago was titled Comfort Zones. So it seems fitting that I writing this one today. I’ve spent a lot of time writing and I have stacks of binders, journals, and pink rose scented paper of my poetry. In one of my many moves I looked at this stack of papers and thought I wonder if I could start a blog with this. So jsack1 was born with jsackmom at the helm. I have yet to include any of my old school writing created with pen and paper. I do plan to let that see the light of day in the new year. So I had the honour of being featured as a guest blogger with the lovely http://loorducation.com. My heart is filled to the brim with gratitude and appreciation. My first guest blog with the beautiful brain filled with me so much pride, and my thankfulness for that opportunity is felt deeply. Then finding out I was featured with http://FeaturedEMag.com while looking for new blogs to follow and finding my own, was truly a gift indeed! I’ve been blessed to meet some wonderful fellow bloggers on this journey to find myself. As well as receiving accolades of the Liebster blogger award and most recently the Very inspiring blog award. Stay tuned as I’ll be writing up my acceptance blog and nominating some other bloggers. As well as sending a proper thank you to the amazing http://maryswordsandpictures.com for the nomination. She has opened the door to allow me to guest blog there as well. I’m also breaking right out of my comfort zones and submitting my writing to websites. I’ve been a little gun shy of this because of submitting before but receiving no response. Due to the encouragement of my lovely blogger friend and my sweet friend my muse, Ingrid, I’ve decided to branch out. I’m taking my blog to another platform on Bloglovin. I will still be here with my supportive WordPress community where your kindness has allowed me to blossom. I thank you and if you’re at Bloglovin let me know and if you’d like to follow me there here’s a link. Thank you my readers for being sweet, wonderful, you. Happy new year blessings sent from my home to yours. ❤️🎶

I certainly understand what you are feeling when you say, you’re testing the waters. I’ve felt the same way with my own blog, trying to find my way in a sea of wonderfully talented folks on WordPress.

Without, a clue I jumped in with both feet. My hodgepodge of topics I believe confused most who would follow me one day, after I’ve posted about cooking, then I follow with crafting, and if that was not bad enough I began writing stories and posting those.

I love all the things that make me happy and wanted to share it all in one place. My goal has been to cause a smile to appear on someones face, while reading my blog, or perhaps cause a memory they might have not thought about in years. Memories are such sweet treasures, I wanted to remind people about. Life is difficult at times, but it is also a grand adventure, too.

My dear I look forward to your post here and on bloglovin and wish you all the very best this New Year. Hugs from one mom to another. (Laura)

Dearest Laura, I too couldn’t ever fit into a category with mu blog! I could say it’s personal growth, self help, then theres poetry, and photography. Much like highschool I couldn’t put into a group of people either. I loved and got along with everyone, there was no discriminating for me. I wasn’t out to win a popluarity contest than and I’m not now. I love that you write for the love of it. Whether your crafting, cooking, or writing amazing short fiction. And you’re accomplishing putting a smile on your readers faces. And I think of wonderful memories of my beloved Mama, when I read of your fictional stories of the suitcase. Keep on sharing and loving the written word. You dear sweet pea are a treasure. Hugs and happy new year blessings sent your way. 💗🎉

Hello, Thank you for your warm comments back to me. I was just feeling low in spirits, after looking outside at all of the snow I need to shovel, or use my snow blower. Your words lifted my spirits back to their usual form and I thank you for this.

It always amazes me how words of kindness can transform our mindset. Bless you my dear.. I shall continue with the platform of my blog for now, until I can find a proper direction.. But, and yes there it is again.. I think I am that box of chocolates, pure and simple..

Thank you for also commenting on my story about Traveling with Faith in a Suitcase, brought back lovely memories for you of your own mother. This is why I write… I feel the need to offer hope, as this is actually my middle name – In black and white on my birth certificate. So, I was born to pass on what I’ve been born to do.. I feel honored it has given you warm feelings about your own mom….

Take care my dear friend… out to shovel the white stuff now.. wish me luck… hugs ❤

You’re so right kindness can do so much to life the spirits. I just teceived a message from an overseas friend that lifted me up with angels wings. I’m so happy I could do that for you. And yes your blog is like a lovely box of chocolates. And yes I read your Traveling with Faith in a Suitcase I was transported back to my childhood. I spent a lot of time at my Grandparents as a child, so I was packing or unpacking a suitcase. I was a very empathic sensitive child so I saw stories when I heard words. I felt like I was living that story through your words. I love that your middle is Hope, Laura! I lived in a town of the same name. I was lost and I found Hope there. And that’s where I started blogging and singing again. So I think of that affectionately as I enter new territory with my writing. Enjoy that beautiful white powder, I had the pleasure of playing in 2 feet of snow over the holidays. It was so much fun making snow angels and memories with my sons. 😊⛄️❄️💗

Mercy me, my dear you live in a town called, Hope. It is indeed a small world that we live in. Thank you for sharing this. I survived the shoveling, luckily it was the fluffy snow this time, and not the heavy wet snow we’ve been having as of late. I did indeed enjoy the fresh, crisp air.

        Take care sweet friend.. ❤

I used to live in a town called Hope. I moved away from it 6 months ago. I found my hope there and made some beautiful friendships as well. People who have touched my life and heart, who I miss dearly. It was a wonderful stop on my journey to find myself. 💗
