Welcome to my blog where I share my special needs parenting journey with my heart, truth, and love, one story at a time. ❤️

Ten Things of Thankful

Here it is my time of the week to express my thankfulness. I think we should be thankful every time we wake up breathing. Today I celebrate with Lizzi and her kindness family for TTOT reaching its two year anniversary! Kindness and thankfulness should be spread everywhere and I’ll jump on that VW bus and start promoting that daily! I’ve been participating for three weeks now in this very special linkup and it’s my happy place to be in the blogosphere. So without further ado onto the link up. 😃

1. I’m thankful for my gorgeous, goofy boys who make me laugh out loud with their ridiculous antics. If I’m having a day filled with sadness they lift me up with laughter.

2. I’m thankful that I had a wonderful time on my son’s field trip to the zoo. I got to be a parent volunteer in his group and get to know some of his classmates that I don’t talk to regularly. I also got to see how well liked my son is. Being the new kid on the block a year ago was a difficult struggle for him and us. So seeing him thriving in his classroom environment made me so proud. ❤️

3. I’m thankful that my week without having a functioning fridge is over. I made do with a little bar fridge until our new one was delivered yesterday. You don’t realize how important those amenities are until you lose the use of a much needed appliance. Here’s to solid ice cream and ice cubes again. 😉

4. I’m thankful for reaching out to a friend when I was struggling to find my smile. Sometimes it’s within those vulnerable moments we find our greatest strengths.

5. I’m thankful for another successful Bloggy Throwback on the Original Bunker Punks website. Each week I see more bloggers linking up reading and sharing some wonderful talent. This amazing site is finally getting it’s name out there. I’m so proud to be a part of something so fresh, fun, and fabulous. This was the first site I was ever published on and now I’m helping to make it a big success. 😃

5. I’m thankful for working hard on my self care by getting my daily workout in. All the support I’ve received on my fitness journey makes me feel so grateful.

6. I’m thankful no matter how far I move away from my Mommy group we’re still a special part of each other lives. Only a phone call, text, FaceTime, and message away from each other. 💝

7. I’m so grateful to my awesome friend Punk Rock Papa for letting me be part of the OBP. I started running Bloggy Throwback a month ago and watching it grow has been a great source of pride. This special friend and I connected through our words, our hearts, and our families.  He’s like my brother from another Mother. I love him and his wonderful family so much. ❤️

8. I’m thankful for the sunshine and spending time with my family. It really is the elixir in my life, besides wine. 😉

9. I’m thankful for my ability to tell a story. I have always believed we all have one to share. And when I close my eyes at night all the blog ideas, characters dialogue, and sentence structure come dancing through my head. I love being creative and jotting those gems down before they disappear with the moon beams.

10. I’m thankful for being safe, warm, fed, and loved. Without these basic needs I would be struggling like many are in the world. I’m grateful I can help the ones I can, and that God has blessed me abundantly with my family to love.

Ten Things of thankful

It’s my favourite time of the week to link up for Lizzi’s TTOT blog hop. I’m so happy I’m able to participate as I had some WordPress app issues and my post kept getting “eaten” or not being able to upload pictures. Frustrating to say the least, but all is well and I’m back baby! 😉
1. I’m thankful for being able to admit my pain was a heavy burden and I reached out to friends. I was received with so much love, warmth, and kindness I had wished I had done it sooner.

2. I’m thankful for memories I have of my beloved friend that passed away recently. Even though I’ve  experienced grief so thick it’s felt like quicksand, I have loving memories to hold onto to, and a connection with her family. ❤️

3. I’m thankful I’ve been brave and ventured out of my comfort zone and made some new wonderful friends. It started out as a mystery friend in a Facebook group where I got to spend the last 3 months corresponding with her through cards, letters, and little gifts. The best part was I was a mystery to her and I made my big reveal a week ago. We exchanged texts and met up the next day. We found out we only live less than an hour away from each other. 😃

3. I’m thankful I have a beautiful home, a hard working husband, and really amazing children. They have loved me through my pain, tears, and grief with their love, laughter, and smiles. ❤️

4. I’m thankful that the weather has changed and warmer days and nights are upon us. I was able to get some yard work and some planting done while enjoying the sun.

5. I’m thankful for when I’m feeling lonely I just have to reach out and someone will be there. Whether that’s online, in person, or at the end of my phone. There’s comfort in knowing that when I feel really sad and out of sorts.

6. I’m thankful for my family for without them I wouldn’t feel strong enough to keep fighting through my struggles. They lift me up on angel wings when I forget how to fly.

7. I’m thankful for the sound of my children’s laughter. Hearing it as it wraps our home echoing in happiness and intensity, is like music to my ears.

8. I’m thankful for the people I have in my life filling it with love, laughter, support, and understanding. You all fill my nightly and daily prayers with gratitude for being a part of my happiness.

9. I’m thankful for old friendships being renewed again. I spent 2 1/2 hours on the phone last night catching up with a childhood friend I’ve known and loved for 30 years. We have recently moved closer to one another in the last year, and I’m so excited for our family’s to connect. 😃

10. I’m thankful for all you dear readers that come here each week to read my stories and comment and appreciate what I have to say. You make this the best part of my day, next to cuddles with my family. Thank you so much for filling my love bucket to the brim. ❤️

This has been my submission to   Lizzi’s TTOT I’m so thankful for wonderful her and her tribe that have welcomed me into not just a blog hop but a new way of thinking and appreciating everything in my life. 😃🌟

Ten things of thankful TTOT Link Up

I’m participating in something new today. In Lizzi’s TTOT blog linkup that is celebrating one hundred successful weeks. This truly is amazing as I’ve never known any linkup to last that long. So seeing how I really need to be reminded of things I’m thankful for I had to be part of this momentous occasion.
1. I’m thankful even as I’m stumbling through my grief I can still have my memories to connect with. Some days they are what gets me through my pain to my power that lies within.

2. I’m thankful that I have my children who love me, appreciate me, and will cuddle with me when my heart is hurting.

3. I’m so thankful that my husband will drop everything when I tell him I need him. He is my hero and demonstrates his love in action daily for our family and I.

4. I’m thankful that I saved every message from the last six months so that I can read my friends words who flies with the angels. It’s helping me feel closer to her and my memories of her friendship.

5. I’m thankful I had an wonderful birthday and received such an outpouring of love through messages, phone calls, gifts, cards, and hugs and kisses from amazing people in my life. That I feel so truly grateful for today.

6. I’m thankful for sticking with my back to back fitness challenges even when I felt like giving in. And that I have the hard work to show for it.

7. I’m thankful for my coach Ryan who’s been there to support me every step of the way. He’s become that drive and ambition that was missing in my life. His encouragement and faith in me has helped me begin to live a healthy lifestyle and rid myself of chronic pain.

8. I’m so thankful at the end of a long day that I have my husband by my side. He’s my love and my soft place to fall when the world is just too scary to take on. He loves me with all he has to give and I’m so grateful that he is in my life.

9. I’m so thankful for all my incredible online friendships that I’ve made since I started my venture in blogging. Other gifted writers, page admins, and wonderful people who like to come hang out at my Facebook page. It makes my day to see my notifications lit up with their interactions.

10. I’m so thankful I have a husband who works so hard to provide for our family. With a roof over our heads, our pantry and fridge stocked up with food, and utilities to keep our home running efficiently.

This is bonus one, I’m thankful for Lizzi for coming up with the brilliant concept of Ten Things of Thankful  list, and for having me be part of it today.  ❤️

Gamble

I’ve been living the life of a gambler. I’ve been running on empty for a long time thinking that I can continue this way. I’ve been going on whiffs of exhaustion and sleep deprivation. Reacting strongly with my emotions and easy trigger finger of blame. I have spent more time looking at a bottom of a wine bottle with only tears and rambling writings to show for it. I have spent nights in overwhelming valley and vacationed at heartbreak hotel. I’ve given my power away only to feel like a shell of my former self.

I have decided enough is enough since my crazy train has run off the rails. I’m taking a gamble on myself and putting myself on my list of priorities. Self care will be my goal each and everyday. I will exercise to walk, run, move my body to feel good. I will get more rest, even if it’s not a lot of sleep. I will find a routine that works for me. I will have fun again as me not just Mom. Where I can laugh, love, find my hobbies that make me happy. I will be with others who share these common interests. I will begin to create again to draw, paint, scrapbook, and craft with my kids and on my own. Art is the way to my heart’s inspiration, love, and light.

Eating well and maintaining a balanced diet of healthy foods will feed my body and nourish my mind. I will be kind to myself, by putting myself first, seeking guidance from my family and friends, and counselling from my therapist. I will get outside and explore my new town and surroundings. I will bask in the fresh air and the sunshine, and get my hands back in the dirt with my love of gardening. I will seek daily ways to relax, not just when the stress is choking me physically and emotionally. I will not gamble with my health and happiness again. I deserve to be fully, completely, safe and comfortable in my skin.

I will participate in my yoga practice, keeping mindful with my deep breathing and my temper. I will put my deepest thoughts that aren’t meant to be published in my journal. I will read to fill my mind with beautiful words, my heart with the longing to write my own words to inspire, and my soul with the love of making those chapters part of my being. And when the world is too much for me to handle I will sink into my loves arms and find my solace and believe in myself again. I vow to make my self care an integral part of me that it won’t be a chore, a list of demands to meet, it will be my gift to me.

This has been my submission to More Than Cheese and Beer please check out her anonymous Sunday confessions and all the talent who link up. Thank you. ❤️
