Jsack's Mom's Blog

Welcome to my blog where I share my special needs parenting journey with my heart, truth, and love, one story at a time. ❤️

TTOT and the dog days of summer

I’m on a roll submitting, meeting deadlines, and writing a lot! Then it comes to the end of the week when I can share all the bucket full of thankfuls. I’m so thankful you are here dear readers. ❤️

I’m so thankful that my muse keeps whispering in my ear and I keep writing. It’s my life’s blood on this digital paper and I appreciate you being here to read whatever my mind can conjure up.

I’m thankful for meeting my deadlines for linkups, submissions, and continuing on with my blogging challenge. I linked up with a lovely writer who’s word prompts have inspired some amazing menories for me. I took a brief hiatus from the weekly prompt, but now I’m making the commitment to get back at it.

I’m thankful for the beautiful dog days of summer. Today I just lounged, laughed, and loved with my family. Tis this is what life is really all about, love the ones your with. ❤️

I’m thankful for the positive responses I’ve had with reaching out and connecting with old friends. Time and distance play a big role in the way life can disconnect you. But to know I was being missed as much, as I was doing the missing is a fabulous feeling indeed! 😃

I’m thankful for having my favourite spot to sit and read or just look out at the water. It brings me such peace in my day when I need it the most.

I’m thankful for hiking in wonderful places in my neighbourhood with my kids. Seeing the thrill of discovery on their faces and satisfaction for completing a tough trail is all the reward I’ll ever need in their smiles. 😊

I’m thankful for getting to read in the gorgeous sunshine today. I didn’t fret about housework or laundry I just relaxed and let the words wash over me like a much needed shower.

I’m thankful for parks, playgrounds, and happy kids. They love adventuring and being outdoors as much as me. We go to the park and play, use our imaginations, and I sit on my swing and can fly in the air for hours.

I’m thankful for my continuing fitness journey and seeing the pounds and inches of my depression weight melt away. I call it that as   that’s how I gained it. I feel so much better having my morning shakes and utilizing that energy to get caught up on my projects.

Most of all I’m thankful to Lizzy’s and the Ten Things of Thankful family she’s created here on every corner of the globe. Uniting us through our words, memories, and glittering, sparkling love. 💖

Ten Things of Thankful

It’s been a busy and fun week with the end of school and all the exciting things for my son’s to do. I’m thankful I can share them here with you today.

1. I’m thankful for the friends I made in the parenting support group I attended. It was so wonderful to get to know and bond with them through our parenting experiences. 💓

2. I’m thankful for the last day of school and sharing ice cream with my kids on a hot day. The look on their  happy faces was enough to put up with the boob sweat that accumulated with sitting in the sun. 🍦

3. I’m thankful for late night movie nights on Friday’s and cuddles with my  family in my big king sized bed. 💞

4. I’m thankful for sleeping in on Saturdays when I’m up late on Friday’s. Even my kids slept in and weren’t my 8:00 am wake up call. 🌞

5. I’m thankful for a clean home, fresh smelling laundry, and frozen ice cream from my brand new fridge! 💃

6. I’m thankful for beers, BBQ’s, and my boys giggling and having a water gun fight. 😜

7. I’m thankful for strangers who’ve become friends, and friends who’ve become family. It makes the world a less lonely place when you find your tribe. 😊

8. I’m thankful for my son’s amazing report card that he brought home this week. I’m so proud he’s gone from being bullied in the beginning year to being very well liked and respected at the end. ❤️

9. I’m thankful for love, laughter, hugs, and compassion. Like the Beatles said all we need is love. 🎶💖

10. I’m thankful for fresh baked pies, book club, and discussing a funny book. It feels so good to have something I love and cherish in my life again. 😃

This has been my contribution to the Ten Things of Thankful (TTOT) linkup with Lizzi and her wonderful tribe. Please come check up the shiny happy people that inspire me each week. ❤️

Ten Things of thankful

It’s my favourite time of the week to link up for Lizzi’s TTOT blog hop. I’m so happy I’m able to participate as I had some WordPress app issues and my post kept getting “eaten” or not being able to upload pictures. Frustrating to say the least, but all is well and I’m back baby! 😉
1. I’m thankful for being able to admit my pain was a heavy burden and I reached out to friends. I was received with so much love, warmth, and kindness I had wished I had done it sooner.

2. I’m thankful for memories I have of my beloved friend that passed away recently. Even though I’ve  experienced grief so thick it’s felt like quicksand, I have loving memories to hold onto to, and a connection with her family. ❤️

3. I’m thankful I’ve been brave and ventured out of my comfort zone and made some new wonderful friends. It started out as a mystery friend in a Facebook group where I got to spend the last 3 months corresponding with her through cards, letters, and little gifts. The best part was I was a mystery to her and I made my big reveal a week ago. We exchanged texts and met up the next day. We found out we only live less than an hour away from each other. 😃

3. I’m thankful I have a beautiful home, a hard working husband, and really amazing children. They have loved me through my pain, tears, and grief with their love, laughter, and smiles. ❤️

4. I’m thankful that the weather has changed and warmer days and nights are upon us. I was able to get some yard work and some planting done while enjoying the sun.

5. I’m thankful for when I’m feeling lonely I just have to reach out and someone will be there. Whether that’s online, in person, or at the end of my phone. There’s comfort in knowing that when I feel really sad and out of sorts.

6. I’m thankful for my family for without them I wouldn’t feel strong enough to keep fighting through my struggles. They lift me up on angel wings when I forget how to fly.

7. I’m thankful for the sound of my children’s laughter. Hearing it as it wraps our home echoing in happiness and intensity, is like music to my ears.

8. I’m thankful for the people I have in my life filling it with love, laughter, support, and understanding. You all fill my nightly and daily prayers with gratitude for being a part of my happiness.

9. I’m thankful for old friendships being renewed again. I spent 2 1/2 hours on the phone last night catching up with a childhood friend I’ve known and loved for 30 years. We have recently moved closer to one another in the last year, and I’m so excited for our family’s to connect. 😃

10. I’m thankful for all you dear readers that come here each week to read my stories and comment and appreciate what I have to say. You make this the best part of my day, next to cuddles with my family. Thank you so much for filling my love bucket to the brim. ❤️

This has been my submission to   Lizzi’s TTOT I’m so thankful for wonderful her and her tribe that have welcomed me into not just a blog hop but a new way of thinking and appreciating everything in my life. 😃🌟
